Christ United Methodist Church
of Gary, Indiana was established on June 16, 2004 as the result of a resolution signed by members of the North Indiana Conference.
The merger between Delaney Memorial UMC and Grace UMC, two historical United Methodist Churches, was the culmination of numerous meetings initiated by Lay Members of four of the five United Methodist Churches in Gary. Only two of the four churches voted for the merger.
The future of Christ Church is as bright as it is blessed for it has the foundation of life-long members committed to serve the church and the Gary community. Its members are grounded in the love of Christ and the spirit to serve others. The doors are always open to those looking for a church home, a passion to serve and the commitment to make disciples for Jesus Christ all to the glory of God.

Open hearts: Christ-centered worship at 10:45 a.m. every Sunday morning; regular youth meetings and events; monthly Emmaus reunions.
Open minds: Bible Studies on Tuesdays mornings, Wednesday mornings and evenings; Adult, Youth, and Children's Sunday School classes; and short term Sunday School and Bible Studies scheduled throughout the year. Open doors: radical hospitality that includes our Food Pantry, Sister to Sister ministry; Calumet Outreach of Gary UM Churches.
